Brand Spotlight: Creme de Canna

Cannabis and ice cream go great together, but it took the enterprising genius behind a certain Santa Cruz cannabis farm to put the two together. That’s how the rest of the world learned about Creme de Canna, one of our favorite growers here at Abide Napa—a brand whose outside-the-box products we love to feature. If you’re interested in unusual offerings such as high-CBD badder concentrate and cannabis-infused raw honey, today’s post is definitely for you!

Creme de Canna: The Spark of Inspiration

Creme de Canna: The Spark of Inspiration

Founded by medical cannabis lover Johnathan Kolodinski in 2010, Creme de Canna was launched with the vision of providing legal cannabis all across the Golden State and beyond. But it was the launch of the brand’s cannabis-infused ice creams that really took the cake, so to speak. Once news of Creme de Canna’s frozen offerings such as “Bananabis Foster,” “Straw-Mari Cheesecake,” and “Triple Chocolate Brownie” hit the airwaves, demand for the farm’s more traditional products took off as well.

In 2012, Creme de Canna branched out into cannabis extraction, a move that would seal the brand’s fame as a producer of unusual and highly effective dab concentrate and other extracts. In particular, the farm’s focus on high-CBD concentrates sets them apart, especially in an environment often dominated by the race to the highest THC level.

High-CBD Concentrates

As you may know from previous visits to our cannabis blog, cannabinoids such as CBD and THC interact with our body’s own endocannabinoid system, a crucial regulatory network that helps control such functions as memory, immune and pain response, and many other processes. If you’re new to the world of cannabis concentrates, get up to speed with our introductory articles, Part 1 and Part 2.

Award-Winning Cannabis Extracts

Since launching their extracts project, Creme de Canna has gone on to win numerous awards and honors, including:

  • Santa Cruz People’s Choice Cup 2010: Best Product (for cannabis-infused ice cream)
  • Santa Cruz People’s Choice Cup 2011: Best Dispensary and Product
  • Santa Cruz Cup 2016: Best Extract
  • Chalice Cup 2017: Best THC/CBD Product, Highest Testing CBD Product (two awards)
  • HempCon Cup 2017: Best CBD & Highest Testing CBD Product (two awards)
The Creme De Canna Testing Product

Given these well-deserved honors, we’re proud to feature Creme de Canna products. Especially for those medical cannabis patients interested in the many potential benefits of using high-CBD products, these very special offerings occupy a special place in our hearts (and on our dispensary shelves).

The Creme de Canna Story: In Conclusion

Given their origin story, it’d be hard not to love Creme de Canna for combining two of our favorite things: fresh, flavorful cannabis and delicious ice cream! That’s why we’re thrilled to offer their California born-and-bred products, including a very potent and unusual high-CBD badder concentrate.
